Subcoolture is the commercial outlet of Madrid based illustrator and typographer Sergio Jiménez.
Subcoolture required a means to showcase its work, raise its profile and enhance awareness of its brand, especially amongst other creatives and prospective clients. Much of Subcoolture’s work was already featured on various design blogs and sites but it lacked an online presence of its own. A place where it could collate and display its work in a controlled and authoritative manner.
What we did
Trafiq created a site that consolidates Subcoolture’s work into a simple and clean interface allowing the illustrations to be the focus of attention. Extraneous content is kept to a minimum with each project easily accessible from a simple thumbnail grid on the home page. The use of real web fonts allows Subcoolture to use its corporate typography throughout without being restricted to a handful of standard and overused web fonts such as Arial or Times. To ensure that the site could be kept relevant and fresh we created it using the Drupal CMS thereby allowing the client the freedom to update all projects and text themselves.
Since the launch Subcoolture’s work enquiries have risen by 60% with many of those enquiries originating from larger, more prestigious clients. The site has helped to raise Subcoolture profile globally with many enquiries coming from outside of its native country Spain.
