With nearly half the year passed already, we pull together some of the key digital events still to look forward to in 2014.
10th July, Cambridge
Now in its 8th year, this event organized by The Chartered Institute of Marketing claims to be one of the UK’s most authoritative digital marketing events. It presents the latest trends and insights within digital marketing and this years focus is on email, responsive design, mobile, social media, SEO and content marketing.
22nd August, Bournemouth
re:develop is a one day conference for developers which brings together a wide range of highly experienced individuals to discuss the latest industry trends, techniques and best practice. Full of brilliant speakers showcasing practical case studies this event definitely looks like one to put in the diary.
1st-3rd September, Brighton
Reasons to be Creative brings together ‘the world’s most talented designers, coders, creatives, film makers, animators, installation builders, illustrators, and artists presenting 3 tracks over 3 full days’. It offers an inspiring and educational conference for web designers, coders and apparently anyone with a creative mind.
12th September, Brighton
In only a few short years, BrightonSEO has become one of the most popular and respected search marketing conferences in the UK. This event is attended by representatives “from agencies, in-house marketing teams and business owners from Brighton, the south-east and all across the UK and Europe”. The wide range of professionals involved in this event not only make attending it obliqutous (in our books anyway) but also highly enjoyable - a jolly nice group of people are those SEO folk.
13th September 2014, London
“A carefully curated, intimate, one-day photography conference, BIRDIE brings together inspiring photographers, speakers and storytellers for talks and discussion”. This looks set to be an interesting day for anyone passionate about digital photography.
13th-21st September 2014, London
So this may not be strictly a 'digital' event - however it is certainly one to mention. First held in 2003, The London Design Festival is now seen as one of the world's most important design events hosting over 300 exhibitions, installations and workshops across a dazzling array of venues across London. This is always an incredibly inspiring event, no matter what design discipline you work in.
The Brighton Digital Festival is the UK’s largest celebration of digital art and culture and features a wide range of inspiring conferences, exhibitions, installations, workshops and outdoor events throughout the month of September.
It is developed and managed by the digital and arts communities across the city which ensures there is an abundance of personality and originality throughout the event.
24th-25th October, London
User-centered design is quite rightly becoming central to most digital projects. This event focuses on how user centred design is applied in a range of disciplines.
15th November, Brighton
Now in its fourth year, UX Camp Brighton is a one day event for people interested in user experience (UX), interaction design, information architecture or usability. This is very much about sharing ideas in an collaborative environment rather than as a formal conference and seems to attract a loyal and enthusiastic following. It certainly gets more and more popular every year.
